Kickoff Times Announced for Three Houston Games

HOUSTON - The American Athletic Conference, in conjunction with ESPN, announced TV selections and kickoff times for 21 conference games Wednesday, including three University of Houston games.
The Tom Herman era will kick off at 7 p.m. on Sept. 5 inside TDECU Stadium as Houston opens the season vs. Tennessee Tech. The game will air on ESPN3 and marks the first meeting between the two schools.

The Lone Star Showdown between Houston and SMU on Thursday, Oct. 8, will kick off at 7 p.m. CT and will air on ESPN2. The Cougars own a 19-10-1 record vs. the Mustangs, winning eight of the last nine meetings including wins in the last two showdowns by a combined score of 69-9.
One week later, Houston will travel to Tulane on Friday, Oct. 16 for an 8 p.m. CT kickoff on ESPNU. The Cougars own a 14-5 series lead over the Green Wave with a win in 10 of the last 11 meetings.
The three games join Houston's Sept. 12 trip to Louisville, set for an 11 a.m. kickoff on Fox Sports Network, as Houston game times to be assigned.
The American and ESPN also announced Houston's Nov. 27 home game vs. Navy at TDECU Stadium will air on the ESPN family of networks with network designation and kickoff time to be announced at a later date.
Kickoff times for Houston's remaining eight games will be added via the 12-day and 6-day advance selection process by The American's network TV partners. The last 76 Houston games have been picked up for broadcast including 22 games over the last two seasons on the ESPN family of networks.
