Lonnegren Earns Second Straight Diver of the Week Award

HOUSTON - University of Houston diver Julia Lonnegren earned the Conference USA Diver of the Week award (Jan. 31) for the second straight week following her outstanding performances this past weekend.

Lonnegren won the one-meter (299.8) and platform dives (252.15), while taking second in the three-meter (312.6) while competing against LSU, Rice and Tulane in the Cougars quad meet.

Although already qualified for the NCAA post season, the Forolund, Sweden, native reached marks above the NCAA standard in all three events for good measure. The win was her seventh one-meter title of the season.

The award is Lonnegren's second straight, fifth of the season and seventh of her career.
