HOUSTON--- University of Houston soccer midfielder Katelyn Rhodes was named to the 2011 Preseason All-Conference USA First Team.
As a sophomore Rhodes proved herself very reliable, as she was the only member of the team to start all 21 games. Logging the third-most minutes of any field player on the team, Rhodes' productive play landed her a spot on the 2010 All-C-USA First Team.
In addition to the All-Conference USA First Team honor, Rhodes was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Central Region Third Team.
Rhodes was pivotal in the Houston midfield, creating flow on the offensive side while also providing strong defensive support. Her play helped raise Houston's goal differential to +23, which ranked 34th nationally.
Rhodes and the Cougars open the 2011 season at Robertson Stadium at 7 p.m., Aug. 22, against Texas.
