The University of Houston Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced that three games for the 2011 football season have been changed to Thursday nights to accommodate television broadcasts.
UH will play two Thursday games on the road with a Sept. 29 contest at UTEP and Nov. 10 at Tulane. The sole home weekday game will be against in-town rival Rice on Oct. 27.
"These date changes provide our football program another level of exposure with television and the prestige that comes with a national television audience," said UH Director of Athletics Mack Rhoades. "Our program has seen great advances in identity outside of the Houston area thanks to 20 games which have been televised either regionally or nationally over the past two years. We are honored that our team is considered such a strong product for our television partners."
