Truelove Wins 3-Meter Championship at NCAA Zone Diving Meet

University of Houston senior All-American diver Lacey Truelove scored 730.55 points to win the 3-Meter event at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships, qualifying for the NCAA Championships.
Truelove beat out the reigning national champion in the event, Kelci Bryant of Minnesota, by 14.45 points. She excelled on the night with high scores on her second dive of a forward three and a half somersault pike and on her fourth attempt with a reverse two and a half somersault pike.
Fellow teammate Julia Lonnegren took 12th in the event. On Saturday, the pair compete in the 1-meter prelims and championships.
The 2011 NCAA Diving Championships are set for March 7-19 in Austin, Texas.
