MISSOURI CITY, Texas - Three University of Houston golfers posted career-best finishes Tuesday afternoon during the final day of the Houston Baptist Husky Invitational.
Sophomore Jesse Droemer finished third with a score of 209 on the 6,931-yard, par-71 El Dorado Course at Quail Valley Golf Club. It topped his previous best of 12th accomplished twice during the 2010-11 season.
Flanagan tied for seventh place at 216, besting his previous finish of 15th at the Seminole Intercollegiate on March 11-13, 2011.
In addition to those two top-10 finishes, senior Eric Adler earned his best finish with a 25th-place showing. The Sugar Land, Texas, native ended the tournament with a score of 224,
"Any time a player goes out and has a career best finish, we are extremely proud of them," head coach Jonathan Dismuke said. "The course played tougher today, but those guys did a good job holding ground."
With their performances this week, Droemer and Flanagan qualified to compete in the Cougars' starting lineup during the final fall tournament of the season. Houston heads a bit north on Oct. 31-Nov. 1 to compete at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate in Dallas.
Junior Will Dusenbury finished 40th at 232.
Because the Cougars had only four student-athletes competing, they did not qualify for a place in the final team standings. Texas A&M captured the team title at 852 to finish 20 strokes ahead of Houston Baptist.
Individually, Texas A&M's Greg Yates earned medalist honors at 204, four strokes better than McNeese State's Mick Huffman.

The Cougars wrap up their fall season during the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate in Dallas on Oct. 31-Nov. 1. The two-day, 54-hole event will be hosted by Baylor and SMU at Royal Oaks Country Club.
The tournament features an impressive field, including Army, two-time defending NCAA national champion Augusta State, Baylor, Duke, Iowa, Lamar, Missouri, New Mexico, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, SMU, Texas A&M and Tulsa.
"We have the ability to go up there and win the tournament, but we have to show up. It has to be a collaborative effort and can't be one player," Dismuke said. "When you play an event like that, you need a team effort to contend."
The event begins with 36 holes on Oct. 31, starting at 8:30 a.m., and wraps up with the final 18 holes at 8:30 a.m., Nov. 1.
