HOUSTON - As the spring semester continues at the University of Houston, the Cougar golf team became a little larger with the addition of Will Dusenbury, head coach Jonathan Dismuke announced Tuesday.
Dusenbury joined the Cougars at the semester break after an award-winning 18 months at Dallas Baptist. As a freshman during the 2009-10 season, the League City, Texas, native earned six top-10 finishes and was named to the All-Heartland Conference First Team.
Dusenbury recorded second-place finishes at the NCCAA Championship during the fall semester and the Heartland Conference Tournament. At that latter event, he fired an impressive 66 during the final round.
For his impressive performance throughout the season, the Clear Creek High product also was honored as the league's Freshman of the Year.
"Will is going to be a tremendous asset to what we are doing. Although he is only a sophomore, he has a lot of competition under his belt," Dismuke said. "He is a local player, so it is nice to have him back in the Houston area. We have a tough semester ahead of us, and Will came along at a good time for our program."
During the fall 2010 semester, Dusenbury competed in all five tournaments at Dallas Baptist and posted a 73.23 scoring average.
UP NEXT FOR HOUSTON
