Soccer Inks Kylie Cook for the 2010 Season

HOUSTON - Adding to an already stacked list of signees, the University of Houston soccer coaching staff inked Kylie Cook this week for the 2010 season.
The Woodlands High School product recently led her team to capture the state title and was named MVP of the tournament. Also playing for the Challenge Soccer Club, the all-around athlete was named Houston Chronicle Player of Year.
"Kylie is a tall and dominating player who will win balls in the air for our team," head coach Susan Bush said. "She is a versatile player who could see time on the defensive, midfield and forward line. She is expected to see time in her first year at UH and will bring leadership, enthusiasm and experience to our program."
Cook joins Samantha Sackos, Fabiana Cirino, Danielle Munoz, Jasmine Martinez and Nichole Duarte as an incoming signing class that is expected to bring positive change to the Cougars.
"The 2010 recruiting class is the most complete and program-changing class that this coaching staff has signed," Bush said. "The six players that have signed bring another level of play and passion to our program. From defenders, to midfielders, to forwards, I feel that this class will allow Houston soccer to be a competitive force in our conference, state and even country."
Join the Cougars for their opening weekend at home when they take on LSU at Robertson Stadium for a 7 p.m. start on Friday, Aug. 20 and Sam Houston State the following Sunday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m.
