Cougar Football Set To Host Coaches Clinic

The University of Houston football program announced on Monday that it would conduct its 3rd Annual Coaches Clinic on March 26-27, as a precursor to the commencement of spring football practice.
The two-day event will be held on the UH campus in the Carl Lewis Auditorium inside the Athletics/Alumni Center and will feature guest speakers from the professional, college and high school levels. The featured guest speaker is Frank Bush, the Defensive Coordinator for the Houston Texans.
The first-day's agenda includes speaking sessions with area high school coaches Tom Nolen (Houston Lamar High School), Drew Svoboda (Klein Collins HS) and Clint Hartman (Clear Springs High School). Also on the speaking circuit are state prep coaches John King of Longview High School, Mike Owens of Tyler Lee High School, and Southlake Carroll High School head coach Hal Wasson. One out-of-state head coach, Chad Germany of Capitol High Academy in Baton Rouge, also will speak.
The Cougars coaching trifecta of Tony Levine (Special Teams Coordinator), Jason Phillips (Offensive Coordinator) and Brian Stewart (Defensive Coordinator) are slated to speak in the afternoon and evening on Friday.
Saturday's session includes a speech by Larry Jackson, Houston's Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. The two-day session ends with the Cougars' first official practice of the spring that morning.
