Anastasia Pozdniakova Named Diver of the Week

HOUSTON - University of Houston Senior diver, Anastasia Pozdniakova was named the Conference USA Diver of the Week on Tuesday after winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives at her final regular season meet.
Pozdniakova was the winner of two titles at the Houston based meet, Sprint for the Cure, where she competed against rivals from the University of Texas. The senior was the only diver to cross the 300-point mark in both events posting a score of 345.45 in the one-meter and 378.98 in the three-meter event.
The diver has won every diving event of the season she has competed in, furthering her streak to seven-straight in both events. This is her fourth honor of the season and 19th of her career. She is the recipient of the most career Player of the Week honors by any student-athlete in C-USA to date.
The swimmers and divers will be back in the pool Feb. 24-27, as Houston plays host to the C-USA championships.
