HOUSTON - The University of Houston women's basketball team looks to remain unbeaten against TCU at 6:30 p.m., Thursday at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum in Fort Worth. The Cougars have won three-consecutive road contests to improve to 4-0, marking the best start since the 2004-05 season.
Houston survived a furious Oral Roberts' rally to top the Golden Eagles by a score of 93-89 in its last action on Saturday. The Cougars posted a 12-2 run to lead by as many as 10 points in the second half, but ORU evened the contest at 85-85 with just over four minutes to play.
Brittney Scott broke the deadlock with a trey from the corner with 2:56 remaining, and followed with two made free-throws to give the Cougars a four-point lead with a 1:50 left to play.
After ORU cut the lead back down to one point with under 20 seconds remaining, Scott converted two more free-throws to give the Cougars a 92-89 edge. Landry then wrestled away the ensuing inbounds pass and made one of the two free-throws to put the contest out of reach.
