HOUSTON - The University of Houston volleyball team will look to extend its three-match Conference USA win streak when the Southern Miss Golden Eagles come to town for two matches on Saturday and Sunday. Match times for both days are set for 1 p.m.
In addition, the Cougars will host their annual Alumni Weekend. Prior to the start of the match on Saturday, alumni will have the chance to have breakfast with the volleyball team and staff. During the match they will be recognized and then all participants will go to Robertson Stadium for the football game against Mississippi State that evening. All alumni will also be invited to attend the match on Sunday.
Head coach Molly Alvey recently sat down with Tom Franklin of the Houston Alumni Association to talk about the Alumni Weekend. Here is a link to that interview http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0whjwAdp6gw.
Live stats and live video streaming will be available for both matches by logging on to UHCougars.com and going to the volleyball schedule page. A complete wrap-up of each day's events will also be available on the website.
The Cougars enter the weekend with a 9-8 overall record and a 3-2 mark in Conference USA. After losing the first two league matches, UH bounced back to knock off Tulane, UCF and UTEP.
