The contest against Tulsa and their next scheduled game against SMU on Saturday present the Cougars, who enter Thursday's affair at 9-9 overall, with a chance to climb a few rungs in the C-USA standings. Houston sits in sixth place in the league with a 3-2 conference record, while Tulsa (6-10; 0-5 C-USA) is seeking its first league victory.

The duo of Mason and Taylor have joined with the Cougars' leading scorer Brittney Scott, who paces UH with a 17.1 points per game average, and point guard Porsche Landry to give Houston a impressive inside-outside offensive attack.
Tulsa leads the all-time series with Houston by the count of 5-3, including a win in the last match-up between the schools. The Golden Hurricane downed the Cougars 59-55 on Feb. 22, 2009, inside Hofheinz Pavilion to hand Houston one of just two home losses in a 12-2 season on its home court.
