HOUSTON -- The University of Houston women's basketball team returns to its home court inside Hofheinz Pavilion at 5 p.m., Saturday, when the Cougars face crosstown and Conference USA-rival Rice for the second time in three days.
Houston enters the contest in fourth place in the C-USA standings, just two games behind conference leader Southern Miss. UH also enters Saturday's game winners of five of its last seven, including a 66-56 win over the Owls on Wednesday.
The Cougars are back in action at Hofheinz Pavilion where the team is 9-0 this season. In addition to being the lone C-USA school still unbeaten on its home court, the Cougars will have a chance to break history and become the only UH women's team to start 10-0 at Hofheinz.
Sophomore Cobilyn Hill continued her recent dominant inside play at Rice on Wednesday, scoring a game-high 18 points to go with her eight rebounds and six blocks. Over the team's last three games, Hill leads Houston by averaging more than 15 points and eight boards per contest.
In addition to Hill, steady performer Courtney Taylor is still averaging a double-double for the season with 15.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. The Crockett, Texas, native ranks second on the C-USA list of the top active double-double performers with 21 in her career.
After earning his 300th career coaching victory in the Cougar's win over Texas Southern earlier this season, head coach Joe Curl is closing in on another monumental coaching milestone. Curl also continues to creep up on UH coach Dot Woodfin for the most wins in program history. Woodfin notched 175 wins from 1976-85 and leads Curl, who is 171-149 in 11 years on the Cougars sideline, by just four victories.

On Feb. 14 when the Cougars host UTEP in a national televised game at Hofheinz Pavilion, UH Athletics is hosting "Pack the Pavilion". All fans will be admitted to the contest for only $1 and are encouraged to wear pink to support the fight against breast cancer.
