Diving's Pozdniakova Named C-USA Diver of the Week

IRVING, Texas--University of Houston diver Anastasia Pozdniakova won her 11th-career Conference USA Diver of the Week honor, the fifth-most weekly honors won by an athlete in any C-USA sport and the most for any diver in C-USA history.
The weekly honor is also Pozdniakova's record-tying seventh this season.
The junior broke pool records in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events at the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge, La. She has won both events eight-consecutive times this season.
The Elektrostal, Russia native was the only diver to exceed 300 points in both events. She posted 364.80 points in the 3-meter and 337.70 points in the 1-meter.
Next Up
The Cougars will host the "Sprint for the Cure" meet against Texas at the CRWC Natatorium at 6 p.m. Feb. 11.
The meet is free, but the team is asking fans to make a donation at the door because 100 percent of the proceeds from the event will be donated to cancer research.
