Anastasia Pozdniakova Named C-USA Diver of the Week

IRVING, Texas--University of Houston junior diver Anastasia Pozdniakova was honored with the Conference USA Diver of the Week award for the sixth time this season.
The honor was also Pozdniakova's 10th of her career, tying her with former Cougar Yulia Pakhalina for the most career conference Diver of the Week honors.
She earned this week's award after winning both diving events against Texas A&M and SMU last weekend. The Elektrostal, Russia native finished with 375.08 points in the 3-meter competition and 318.30 points in the 1-meter competition against Texas A&M.
Against SMU, Pozdniakova was one of two divers to record over 300 points in the 1-meter event with 350.86 points and she scored 296.78 in the 3-meter competition.
Up Next The Cougars return to action on Jan. 30-31 at the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge, La. beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday Jan. 30 and 11 a.m. on Jan 31. Teams scheduled to compete include LSU, Rice and New Orleans.
