HOUSTON - The University of Houston soccer team returns to action at 7p.m. on Friday, as the Cougars play host to the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns at Robertson Stadium.
Houston (2-1-0) enters Friday's match fresh off a pair of wins last weekend over Sam Houston State and Stephen F. Austin.
"We've done well so far," head coach Susan Bush said. "We're putting out a different lineup then we have used in the past - we have a couple more people healthy.
"We are creating great opportunities offensively; we just need to do a better job finishing in the final third."
Senior midfielder Christine Nieva helped lead UH to a 3-1 win over the Bearkats on Friday, scoring her second career goal as a Cougar and assisting on the eventual game-winner. Nieva leads the team with three points.
Senior captain Shelby Scott held the Ladyjacks scoreless on Sunday, becoming the program's career leader in shutouts with nine clean sheets. Playing every minute this season in net, Scott has posted a goals against average of 0.64.
The Cougars lead the all-time series 4-1 and put a three-game winning streak - including a pair of home wins - against the Ragin' Cajuns on the line.
