HOUSTON, Texas - The University of Houston Athletics Department, in conjunction with its multi-media rights holder partner ISP Sports, announced on Monday the creation of a television coach's show to air on Channel 55 on Saturday mornings this fall.
Cougar Gameday will debut on August 30, with first-year head coach Kevin Sumlin alongside the "Voice of the Cougars" Tom Franklin.
"The television show will give us another avenue to keep our alumni and fans informed as well as giving exposure to potential recruits," said Dave Maggard, UH Director of Athletics. "This now adds another medium to promote our football and overall athletics program."
KTBU-TV General Manager Matt Reiff concurs.
"Channel 55 is very pleased to work with ISP to bring University of Houston coverage to the Houston market," said Reiff. "This relationship gives Channel 55 a great addition to our local sports coverage"
The 30-minute show will include highlights from the previous week, player interviews as well as a preview of the upcoming game. The show will air from 9-9:30 am.
