Baseball to Face Stephen F. Austin Tuesday

The University of Houston baseball team will play host to Stephen F. Austin at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday at Cougar Field.
Sophomore right-hander John Touchton will be the Cougars' starting pitcher. Touchton (1-1) has an ERA of 5.87 and has struck out five batters in 7.2 innings.
Houston (8-5) enters the game after beating UC Santa Barbara 4-2 on Sunday to earn the series win.
Freshman Ty Stuckey earned his first career win Sunday after striking out four and allowing only three hits. Freshman Chase Dempsay earned his second save of the season, surrendering one run in two innings.
The Cougars scored all four runs off home runs and never trailed the Gauchos. Senior first baseman Bryan Pounds hit his fourth home run of the season, knocking in senior Bryan Tully to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Tully finished the game 2-for-4.
The next pair of runs would come in the third inning off the bat of Jake Stewart, who homered to left field to knock Dempsay in to give the Cougars their final runs.
Houston leads the all-time series 32-10 against the Lumberjacks. Houston has posted 20 wins in the last 21 games and has won 16 in a row at home against SFA.
Senior left-hander Lance Luetge (2-1), who has an ERA of 1.88 and five strikeouts in 14.1 innings, will be the Lumberjacks' starting pitcher.
Junior Kevin Croft is the Lumberjacks' top hitter with a .389 batting average and three home runs.
