Cougars Full 2026 Campaign Unveiled

HOUSTON – The Houston Baseball team will look to build on its successes from a year ago with a loaded 2026 schedule featuring teams from every Power conference plus a 2025 College World Series contender.

Houston's first four games of the season were announced in late August with the Cougars opening 2026 with four games in Puerto Rico in the 2026 Puerto Rico Challenge.

The Cougars will host Opening Day festivities inside Darryl and Lori Schroeder Park on Friday, Feb. 20 against UTRGV.

The first of three games in the Don Sanders Cup against Sam Houston will begin in Huntsville, Texas on Feb. 24. The Cougars will host the Bearkats on March 3 before wrapping the series at Sam Houston on April 7. The series returns to being played on campuses only for the first time since 2016.

Houston's Frisco Classic slate was announced in September with the Cougars playing College World Series participant Oregon State along with Iowa and Alabama Feb. 27-29.

The Cougars begin an 11-game home stand with the second game of the Don Sanders Cup on March 3 before hosting Arkansas Pine Bluff (March 6-8), Rice (March 10) and open Big 12 Conference play at home against Kansas State (March 13-15) before closing the home stand with a midweek matchup with Louisiana (March 18).

Houston's first Big 12 road trip, and first road series of the season, takes the Cougars to Lawrence, Kan., March 20-22.

The Cougars host Texas for the fourth-straight time inside Schroeder Park on March 24 before hosting Baylor (March 27-29) whom the Cougars have won 5 of the last six meetings and close March with a meeting against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at home on March 31.

Houston travels to Lubbock for a series at Texas Tech (April 2-4) to begin a stretch where the Cougars play 13 road games in the month of April, playing 13 of 16 games away from home from April 2-April 28.

The Cougars will host BYU (April 9-11) during that span but go to Sam Houston (April 7), Texas A&M (April 14), West Virgina (April 17-19), Rice (April 21), TCU (April 24-26) and Stephen F. Austin (April 28). Houston closes the month of April hosting McNeese (April 29).

Houston closes the season with a pair of Big 12 series against Cincinnati (May 1-3) and at Arizona (May 8-10) before Senior Weekend against Arizona State (May 14-16), sandwiching two midweeks against Lamar (May 5) and Rice (May 12).
