Senior diver Ginni van Katwijk was recently named to the Conference USA Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team.
A sociology major, van Katwijk carries a 3.61 cumulative grade point average. She was the only diver named to the All-Academic Team.
The Grootebroek, Netherlands native was a 2007 NCAA Platform Diving All-America honoree and was named the 2007 C-USA Co-Newcomer of the Year.

The C-USA All-Academic Team consists of six student-athletes that have earned a 3.2 cumulative GPA or better and have competed in 75 percent of their team's scheduled meets.
Joining van Katwijk on this year's team are SMU's Jenny Bassel and Angela San Juan Cisneros, East Carolina's Kim Brewer, Marshall's Kayla Truswell and Rice's Diane Gu.
The 2008 C-USA Women's Swimming and Diving Championship and Invitational begins Wednesday, Feb. 27 and continues until Saturday, March 1. The four-day event will be held at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Natatorium with all five C-USA swimming and diving programs competing in the meet.
