Football Players of the Week Announced

HOUSTON--The University of Houston head coach Kevin Sumlin and the coaching staff announced team Players of the Week honorees after a comeback victory, 44-38, over SMU.
Tight end Mark Hafner was named Offensive Player of the Week after he set a career-high with 160 yards receiving.
A pass from sophomore Case Keenum to Hafner on a two-point conversion gave Houston its final margin of victory.
For defense, senior Cody Lubojasky was named Player of the Week. The linebacker was honored after he had five solo tackles.
Quinte Williams was also named Player of the Week after his outstanding performance on special teams.
Cotton Turner, Jamal Robinson and Ryan Tennison were honored as the Scout Team Players of the Week.
Next Up
The Cougars will travel to Huntington, W. Va. on Oct. 28 for a ESPN Tuesday night game against Marshall, slated to begin at 7 p.m.
Rece Davis will provide play-by-play action, while Mark May and Lou Holtz will provide color analysis.
Fans also can hear the game live on 790 AM The Sports Animal with Tom Franklin calling the play-by-play action, Ted Pardee providing color analysis and Chuck Brown reporting from the sideline. The pregame show is slated to begin one hour before kickoff.
