Monday's Soccer Match With UCLA Canceled

HOUSTON - The soccer match between the University of Houston and No. 3 UCLA set for Monday, Sept. 3 has been cancelled.
The match was slotted as a makeup for the Friday night contest between the two squads that was canceled due to severe weather in the Houston area.
The teams had played into the 48th minute, but according to NCAA rules, an official match must be at least 70 minutes. UCLA held a 4-0 lead at the time of the delay. Stats for the match will not count.
UCLA was unable to change its travel plans, which led to the cancellation of the match.
The Bruins will take on the Texas Longhorns Sunday night on John O¹Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium. Kickoff time is set for 7 p.m. CDT and tickets are available for $5 at the gate.
Fans who held tickets for Friday¹s match should contact the UH Athletics Ticket Office at 713-GO-COOGS.
Houston (0-0), will open up the 2007 season Friday at 7 p.m., taking on Sam Houston State in Robertson Stadium.
