Truelove Named C-USA Diver of the Week

HOUSTON - University of Houston freshman Lacey Truelove recently was honored as the Conference USA Diver of the Week.
Truelove, a native of London, Ontario, was the Cougars' leading performer last weekend at the Texas Invitational, which featured some of the nation's top collegiate swimming and diving teams.
She began her stay at that meet with a 17th-place finish on the 3-meter springboard but improved her finish each day. Truelove scored 253.20 points to finish sixth in the 1-meter competition and earned 221.35 points on the platform to finish fourth.
It was her first C-USA weekly award.
SMU's Jennifer Blackman was honored as the league's swimmer of the Week.
The Cougars return to action at 5 p.m. (CST), Dec. 31, when they compete at the Hawai'i Relay Meet in Honolulu, Hawai'i as part of their winter training. The team also will square off against an opponent to be determined at 5 p.m. (CST), Jan. 4, in Honolulu.
