CFN Names Avery A Midseason All-America

HOUSTON, Texas - University of Houston senior wide receiver Donnie Avery has been selected by CollegeFootballNews.com as an honorable mention, midseason All-America, as posted on the company's website.
Avery, who set a UH and Conference USA record in receiving yards with 346 against Rice last week, currently leads the Cougars and C-USA in receiving with 884 yards on 46 receptions. He also has added 326 yards on 11 kickoff returns. He is second in the nation in receiving yards with 147.3.
Avery has posted three consecutive 100-yard receiving games, capped by his record-breaking performance against the Owls in the Bayou Bucket. Avery had 208 yards receiving in the first quarter against Rice, setting another Houston record in the process.
Avery is joined on the honorable mention squad by two other conference players: UCF running back Kevin Smith and UAB kicker Swayze Waters.
