Koehl Named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team

HOUSTON - University of Houston senior Wade Koehl was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team. A finance major with a 3.52 GPA, Koehl was the only Cougar recognized as a First Team member of District 6.
As a member of the first team, Koehl is a finalist for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team given to the top 11 athletes throughout the eight districts. The winners will be announced Dec. 1.
This is the second honor in one day for the senior from Midland, Texas. Koehl was recently named a finalist for the Wuerfell Trophy, given to the college football player who best combines exemplary community service with outstanding academic and athletics achievement. Earlier this season, he was also named to the Butkus Award Watch List.
