Cougar Fans Invited to Conference USA Launch Party

HOUSTON - As the countdown to the new Conference USA draws to an end, fans of both the University of Houston and Rice University are invited to a launch party celebrating the league's new look for the 2005-06 season.
The C-USA Launch Party will begin at 6 p.m., Thursday at the Ragin' Cajun at Westheimer and Gessner. Fans from both schools are invited to attend the party, which is free and open to the public, and celebrate with C-USA Commissioner Britton Banowsky as well as coaches and staff members from UH and Rice.
Conference USA door prizes will be given away, and all Cougar fans are encouraged to attend.
On Friday, July 1, Conference USA will get a new look as Rice, SMU, Tulsa, UTEP, UCF and Marshall come into the league. The new members will get their first taste of the new league with full competition during the upcoming 2005-06 season.
