HOUSTON - Play began for the Cougar tennis team the Tigers of LSU, but due to rain action had to be delayed until Wednesday afternoon when the two teams will resume their matches at 1 p.m.
The location of the match will be determined based upon the weather. If it is nice enough to play outside then the match will be concluded on the John E. Hoff Tennis Courts on the University of Houston main campus. If it is raining, the matches will be moved indoors and a location will be announced prior to the match's start time.
When action was postponed on Tuesday, Cougars and Tigers were locked in a spilt with all matches having only concluded the first set.
In the No. 1 spot, senior Biljana Dimovska managed to pick up a 6-4 win in the first set, same with junior Kami Miller at the No. 4 spot, and junior Yolandi Terblanche had won her first set in the No. 6 spot, 6-3.
The remaining three matches have the Cougars battling back on Wednesday as senior Diana Martin dropped her first set 6-2 in the No. 3 spot, freshman Brianna Bateup fell 4-6 at the No. 2 spot, and fellow freshman Tiffany McLoughlin was down a set at the No. 5 position after being defeated 6-3.
Due to weather concerns, doubles action was moved to the end of the match and will be played at the end of tomorrow's competition.
