Kiess Wins C-USA Diver of the Week Award

HOUSTON - After helping lead the University of Houston swimming and diving team to a split against host North Texas and SMU last weekend, sophomore Anna Kiess was honored Monday as the Conference USA Diver of the Week.
It marked the fourth time in 2004-05 and the fifth time during her young collegiate career that Kiess collected the league's weekly award.
Kiess earned the award after winning the 1-meter springboard competition with 300.15 points against the Mustangs and Mean Green. She was the only diver in that event to crack the 300-point plateau.
Later in the day, she finished third in the 3-meter competition with 292.55 points.
The Cougars return to action at 5 p.m., Friday when they meet Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, at the Barshop Natatorium.
