Swimming & Diving Announces First Signee

HOUSTON - Jenny Hagen was announced Monday as the first signee to join the University of Houston Swimming & Diving program, head coach Mark Taylor said.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Hagen joins the Cougars after a stellar prep career at Ursuline Academy. There, she was recognized for four years as a League All-Star and was a two-time National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association All-American.
As a student at Ursuline, she helped lead the team to four appearances in the state championship meet with a pair of victories in those contests.
Hagen, who will be a freshman, is expected to compete in the freestyle events for the Cougars when they open their 2004-05 season in October.
