University of Houston senior forward Louis Truscott has been named the Conference USA Player-of-the-Week after a pair of impressive outings at Memphis and Southern Miss.
Truscott scored 20 points and pulled in nine rebounds in Houston's 77-66 loss at Memphis on January 22. His 20 points against the Tigers marked the third time this season that he has scored 20 or more points in a game. He shot a combined 55 percent from the field in the two games.
He followed that performance with a 19-points, 18-rebound effort to lead the Cougars to a 76-75 victory over Southern Miss in Biloxi, Miss., last Saturday. His lay-up with four seconds left to play proved to be the winning basket in Houston's first win away from Hofheinz Pavilion this season.
Truscott's 18 rebounds are also the second highest total of his career and it is the third time this season he has grabbed 18 rebounds in a game.
He enters Wednesday night's game against South Florida leading Conference USA in rebounding with 12.3 per game and his 10 double-doubles leads the league as well.
