Raul Ganzalez began with the Houston Men’s Basketball program 2015 and began his first full season as associate director of operations prior to the 2018-19 season.
Ganzalez, who is a native of Keene, Texas, was promoted to his current position in June 2018. In that role, he assisted Director of Operations Meshu Negga in a variety of administrative duties. He left the program for personal reasons in May 2021.
He began his career with the Cougars as a student manager in 2015, helping the coaches and team members in practices and competition.
During his time in Houston, Ganzalez has been a part of teams which won 167 games in six straight 20-win seasons with five consecutive postseason appearances. That streak includes three NCAA Tournament appearances with a berth in the 2021 Final Four and the 2019 Sweet 16.
Following his graduation from Houston with a bachelor’s degree in sports administration with a minor in business foundations in 2016, Ganzalez worked in internal operations with the Men’s Basketball program from 2016 to 2018.
He and his wife, Lindsay, have a daughter, Amelia.
