Bryan Clarke joined the University of Houston Men’s Basketball program in December 2021 and currently serves as assistant director of sports performance for the Houston Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs.
Clarke works closely with Men’s Director of Sports Performance and Women’s Director of Sports Performance Kylie Durkee in creating strength and conditioning programs for all student-athletes to maximize their physical and mental performances.
Joining the Cougars as a sports performance intern in 2021, Clarke has worked with Houston Men’s Basketball programs, which have won three straight conference regular-season championships and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in each season.
He was elevated to his current role with both Men’s and Women’s programs prior to the 2023-24 season.
Before coming to Houston, Clarke served at his alma mater, Texas Southern. Joining as an intern in 2020, he worked with the TSU Women’s Basketball, Men’s Track & Field, Volleyball and Soccer programs.
He became an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the Tigers in 2021 and was part of the TSU team which knocked off #20 Florida.
Clarke received his bachelor’s degree in health education from Texas Southern in 2019 and earned his master’s degree in kinesiology from TSU in 2022.
As an undergraduate at Texas Southern, Clarke was a five-time All-Southwestern Athletic Conference honoree in the 400-meter hurdles and was a member of the Tigers’ SWAC Indoor and Outdoor champions in 2015. He served as team captain of the Texas Southern team for the 2019-20 season.
Clarke is a certifield strength and conditioning specialist by CSCS and is Level 1 by USA Weightlifting
He and his wife, Aimy, have a daughter, Alani.
