Martin Marroquin joined Houston Football in March 2021 and was elevated to Assistant Director of Scouting in April 2023. The 2023 season will be his first in the new role and third overall with the Cougars.

In his current role, Marroquin organizes transfer portal entries and reviews film to locate prospects. He also watches high school player film to provide scouting reports and assists coaches in pinpointing prospects with an emphasis on the defense.

Marroquin joined the Cougars as a Film Assistant in March 2021. In the role, he filmed practices to assist in self-scouting and assisted in completing practice plans and condensing film for coaches, before he was elevated to a Recruiting Assistant.

As a Recruiting Assistant, Marroquin used HUDL to view and cut up film of high school players, helped with on-campus visits and game day operations and alerted coaches and staff of transfer portal updates while providing recommendations on player pursuit. He also provided feedback for high school prospects and notified coaches and staff of weekly player updates.

Marroquin was honorably discharged from the United States Navy after serving from January 2011-January 2020. As a Nuclear Electrician with the Navy, Marroquin maintained proper working condition of submarine electric plants and machines, operated electrical components and nuclear power plants as well as regulated power distribution to ensure proper electrical loading among other responsibilities.Â

He also served as a Quality Assurance Inspector and Quality Assurance Leading Petty Officer where he managed 33 Quality Assurance Department military members.Â

In July 2021, Marroquin joined Pro Football Focus as a Data Collection Analyst where he analyzes game footage to track real-time statistics which aids in collecting data to provide grades for players.

Marroquin received his Bachelor of Science in Sport Administration from the University of Houston in December 2022 along with a minor in Journalism.
