• Joe Montag joined the Houston Football program as a defensive graduate assistant in the summer of 2018.
• Montag arrived in Houston after two seasons as a defensive line graduate assistant at Purdue.
• Prior to his time at Purdue, the Elkridge, Md., native spent two seasons as a defensive assistant working with the linebackers at the University of Miami.
• Montag received his start in coaching at Bridgewater College after suffering a career-ending injury as a player for the Eagles.
