Jimmy Jongebloed joined Houston Football as its Assistant Director of Player Personnel in April 2023. The 2024 season will be his second with the Cougars.
In his current role, Jongebloed manages defensive recruiting operations/evaluations, builds out and scouts recruiting boards for upcoming sophomore, junior and senior high school classes while locating potential student-athletes for coach evaluation and scholarship offers.
He also manages recruiting area evaluations and travel for defensive coaches, invites prospects to camps and arranges unofficial visits to campus while serving as a host. Jongebloed supports the program by evaluating defensive transfer portal prospects.
Prior to Houston, Jongebloed spent three seasons at the University of Texas as a Recruiting Assistant where he supported the Longhorns in all defensive line scouting and recruiting efforts while creating HUDL video cutups of upcoming high school prospects for evaluation by coaching and personnel staff.
Jongebloed scout assigned geographic regions for upcoming prospects and position groups (DL) nationally for prospects. He also updated internal databases with prospect information and created XOS video cutups on transfer portal prospects for evaluation by coaching and personnel staff.
In his role, he organized road travel plans for assigned coaches during recruiting evaluation periods, wrote reports on opponent personnel groups one week in advance of game prep and hosted prospects on campus for official and unofficial visits.
During his three seasons with the Longhorns, Texas reached a pair of bowl games including capturing the 2020 Valero Alamo Bowl. In 2022, the Longhorns defense ranked second in the Big 12 in rushing defense (125.7) and team defense (368.4)
Jongebloed received his Bachelor of Science in Sport and Fitness Administration from the University of Texas in December 2022. He also minored in Business Administration.
