- Edward Jones II is in his third season at Houston. Jones returns to his previous role of Director of Player Development after spending a year helping out the recruiting department as the Assistant Director of Player Personnel.
- In his role Jones has created and oversees the Beyond The Field program, which focuses on the personal welfare, community impact and career development of the Houston football players. Jones has assisted in creating relationships with many school districts and prominent businesses based in the city of Houston. His mission is for the football student-athletes to establish an impact that will be felt for generations.
- Jones joined the Houston Football program in March of 2016, serving as the program’s director of high school relations & player development.
- A University of Houston graduate, Jones joins the UH program after three years at Fort Bend Hightower High School where he served as the Hurricanes wide receivers coach while teaching world geography. While at Fort Bend, Jones was part of a staff that won three straight district championships. In addition to his coaching and teaching duties, Jones also served as the program’s recruiting coordinator, academic coordinator and social media director.
- Prior to his time at Fort Bend, he spent three years at Cypress Lakes High School, coaching the program’s safeties and teaching world geography.
