LUBBOCK, Texas – The University of Houston Track & Field program gears up for the 2026 Big 12 Indoor Championships set for Friday and Saturday, hosted by Texas Tech at the Sports Performance Center.

STARTING LINE NOTES

The Cougars collected 46 victories, 89 personal bests and 23 new Top-10 school marks during the indoor regular season.
Three school records were set this season in the men's 60-meter hurdles, men's weight throw and women's pole vault.
Graduate Jamar Marshall Jr. earned Big 12 Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors after opening the season with a victory in the men's 60-meter hurdles at the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational (Jan. 10).
Marshall Jr. won the men's 60-meter hurdles with a school record time of 7.54 at the Don Kirby Invitational (Feb. 14).
Redshirt sophomore Ty Lott became the men's weight throw school record holder with a personal best mark of 21.41m at the Howie Ryan Invitational (Feb. 13).
Sophomore Evina Panagiotou set the women's pole vault school record with a mark of 4.21m at the Robert Platt Invitational (Jan. 30). The sophomore elevated her school mark to 4.25m at the Charlie Thomas Invitational (Feb. 7).
Three Cougars currently rank in the top-16 to qualify to NCAA Indoor Nationals. Marshall Jr. ranks 10^th in the men's 60-meter hurdles, senior Kaycee McCoy is 11^th in the nation in the women's 60-meter hurdles and freshman Dominic Harper is currently 15^th in the men's 200-meters.
Houston announced Thursday that 2024 NCAA 100-meter champion and Olympian Louie Hinchliffe has returned to the team. Hinchliffe will compete in the men's 60-meter.
The Cougars return two of their 2025 Big 12 Indoor Champions and one outdoor champion. Graduate Grant Levesque will make his season debut as he looks to win his third consecutive men's heptathlon title. Junior Antrea Mita looks to repeat as men's indoor high jump champion. Marshall Jr. won the men's outdoor 110-meter hurdles and looks to win his first 60-meter hurdles title as a Cougar.
