Kateri Poole to Miss the Rest of 2025-26 Season

Houston guard sidelined following surgery
HOUSTON – University of Houston Women's Basketball guard Kateri Poole will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season following surgery on her left knee, Head Coach Matthew Mitchell announced Friday.
"Kateri underwent knee surgery this week and will miss the remainder of the season," Mitchell said. "While we are heartbroken for her, she is a tough competitor. We are confident she will approach her recovery with the same determination. We wish her all the best during her recovery process."
Poole, a 5'8" guard from Bronx, N.Y., missed the 2024-25 season after suffering a torn ACL and lateral meniscus in her left knee during a preseason scrimmage. She spent 719 days away from the court and made her return during Houston's 2025-26 season opener against UT Arlington (Nov. 4, 2025).
This season, Poole appeared in 10 games and averaged 3.9 points and 2.4 assists per game before reaggravating her left knee against Arkansas State (Nov. 28, 2025).
