Cougars host two-day meet beginning Friday at 11 a.m.
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Track & Field program will host the Robert Platt Invitational beginning Friday at the LLH Healthcare Indoor Track inside Yeoman Fieldhouse. Fans can purchase tickets online by clicking here.
The two-day meet begins at 11 a.m., Friday, with multis, field events at 1 p.m., and running events at 4 p.m. The competition resumes at 10 a.m., Saturday, with field events followed by running events at 11 a.m., and multis at 11:45 a.m.
ABOUT ROBERT PLATT
The University of Houston community lost a beloved friend and teammate on June 26, 2019, when Robert Platt Jr. passed away. Platt Jr. was a pole vaulter for the Houston Track & Field program, competing in 24 meets for the Cougars.
Before Houston, Platt Jr. attended George Ranch High School and earned a third-place finish at the 6A State Championships during his senior season. Outside of athletics, Robert Platt Jr. was an active member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at Houston.
His mother, Kaddie Platt, led the Houston Volleyball program from 2012 to 2019.

STARTING LINE NOTES
- Last weekend at the Ted Nelson Invitational, senior Zaeda Houff recorded the first victory of the weekend with a personal best mark of 18.59m in the women's weight throw, for the sixth-best mark in program history.
- Sophomore Esther Osisike placed second in the women's weight throw at 18.54m and posted a personal best at 15.31m in the women's shot put for the eighth-best mark in program history.
- Redshirt Sophomore Ty Lott posted a personal best mark of 19.87m in the men's weight throw, moving up to third place in program history.
- Senior Canaan Wharry recorded a personal best mark of 18.64m in the men's weight throw.
- Junior Cordell Nwokeji collected the second victory of the weekend in the men's shot put with a personal best mark of 18.58m. He is now tied for seventh all-time in school history.
- Sophomore Cleo Agyepong earned second in the women's shot put with a personal best mark of 16.24m, for the fifth-best mark in program history.
- Senior Kaycee McCoy dominated the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.30 to collect the third victory of the weekend for the Cougars.
- Senior Anthony Trucks has a season best time of 7.81 in the men's 60-meter hurdles to place second overall.
- Freshman Dominic Harper finished second in the men's 200-meter with a personal best time of 21.08.
- Graduate Ryan Mulholland also posted a season best as he placed third in the men's 60-meter in 6.78.
- Junior Patrick Flowers set a personal best time of 8:23.82 in the men's 3,000-meters and is now eighth all-time in program history.
- Freshman Shieana Hall took home second place in the women's triple jump with a personal best of 12.62m. She is now tied for sixth in program history.
- Junior Antrea Mita made his season debut as he tied for second place in the men's high jump with a mark of 2.14m.
- Sophomore Evina Panagiotou tied her personal best mark of 4.17m to take home third in the women's pole vault.
- The women's 4x400-meter relay of junior Michaela Mouton, sophomore Carlysia Cresser, along with freshman Jada Stanford and Kamree Wolridge, closed out the evening with a second-place finish at 3:39.79.
