Track & Field Earns Three Victories at Ted Nelson Invitational

Cougars also post seven top-10 program marks at two-day meet
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS – The University of Houston Track & Field program won three events, placed second in seven events, collected two third-place finishes and added seven top-10 program marks this weekend at the Ted Nelson Invitational.
FRIDAY EVENTS
The throws squad opened the first day of competition strong. Senior Zaeda Houff collected the first victory of the weekend with a personal best mark of 18.59m in the women's weight throw. This mark moves her to sixth on Houston's all-time performance list. Sophomore Esther Osisike placed second at 18.54m.
In the men's weight throw, two personal bests were recorded. Redshirt sophomore Ty Lott posted a mark of 19.87m to move up to third on Houston's all-time performance list. Senior Canaan Wharry recorded a mark of 18.64m.
SATURDAY EVENTS
The throws squad had another dominant performance as junior Cordell Nwokeji collected the second victory of the weekend in the men's shot put. Nwokeji secured a personal best mark of 18.58m and is now tied for seventh all-time in school history.
Sophomore Cleo Agyepong earned second in the women's shot put with a personal best mark of 16.24m, for the fifth-best mark in program history. Osisike also posted a personal best at 15.31m for the eighth-best mark in program history.
Senior Kaycee McCoy dominated the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.30 to collect the third victory of the weekend for the Cougars.
Senior Anthony Trucks had a season best time of 7.81 in the men's 60-meter hurdles to place second overall.
Freshman Dominic Harper finished second in the men's 200-meters with a personal best time of 21.08.
Graduate Ryan Mulholland also posted a season best as he placed third in the men's 60-meter in 6.78.
Junior Patrick Flowers set a personal best time of 8:23.82 in the men's 3,000-meters and is now seventh in program history.
Freshman Shieana Hall took home second place in the women's triple jump with a personal best of 12.62m. This mark is tied for seventh in program history.
Junior Antrea Mita made his season debut as he tied for second place in the men's high jump with a mark of 2.14m.
Sophomore Evina Panagiotou tied her personal best mark of 4.17m to take home third in the women's pole vault.
The women's 4x400-meter relay of junior Michaela Mouton, sophomore Carlysia Cresser, along with freshmen Jada Stanford and Kamree Wolridge, closed out the evening with a second place finish at 3:39.79.
