PREVIEW: Track & Field Heads to College Station for Ted Nelson Invitational

Two-day meet kicks off at 4 p.m., Friday
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The University of Houston Track & Field program heads to the Ted Nelson Invitational hosted by Texas A&M, beginning Friday inside the R.A. "Murray" Fasken '38 Indoor Track.
The meet begins at 4 p.m., Friday with the men's and women's weight throw. The competition resumes at 10 a.m., Saturday, starting with field events followed by running events at noon.
STARTING LINE NOTES
Fans can make a direct impact on the success of Houston Track and Field by providing NIL opportunities, purchasing tickets and joining the Podium Club, which provides support directly to Houston Track and Field for needs beyond its operating budget.

STARTING LINE NOTES
- The Couguars opened the season with 11 victories at the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational (Jan. 10), setting the tone for the season.
- Graduate Jamar Marshall Jr. was named the Big 12 Track & Field Athlete of the Week following his victory in the men's 60-meter hurdles in 7.71.
- Freshman Zac Miller won the men's 3,000 meter in 8:11.89 with a meet record and a top four program mark.
- Sophomore Addison Hite recorded a personal best and third best program mark with a victory in the women's 3,000 meters in 9:38.97.
- Freshman Dominic Harper blazed to a first-place victory in the men's 200 meters with a time of 21.12.
- Sophomore Kali Magana finished the women's 600 yards with the fastest time of the night in 1:24.08.
- The freshman duo of Sean Aigboboh and Micah Washington placed first and second in the men's 60-meter dash, respectively, with Aigboboh's time of 6.74 and Washington's time at 6.78.
- The women's 4x400 meter relay claimed the first-place win in a time of 3:46.49 with freshman Kamree Wolridge, freshman Jada Stanford, senior Matilde Ochoa and junior Michaela Mouton.
- Senior Kaycee McCoy had a strong performance with a victory in the 60-meter hurdles (8.18) and a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a personal best 7.48.
- Junior Ruth Agadama and freshman Zyon Alston tied for third overall in the 60-meters with a time of 7.56.
- Graduate Miracle Thompson placed second in the women's 60-meter hurdles in 8.49.
- Sophomore Noah Hanson placed third in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 7.99.
- Sophomore King Taylor earned second in the men's 200 meters in 21.82.
- Mouton finished second in the women's 200 meters in 24.63.
- Sophomore Invida Maurina ran a 56.89 and finished in third-place in the women's 400 meters.
- Senior Zaeda Houff placed third in the women's weight throw with a personal best of 18.25 meters and moved up to eighth on Houston's top 10 program list.
- Graduate Canaan Wharry placed second in the men's weight throw with a personal best of 18.49 meters, for the sixth best mark in program history.
- Sophomore Sydney Freeman placed second place in the women's shot put with a personal best of 15.20 meters, for the seventh best mark in program history.
- Sophomore Cleo Agyepong took third in the women's shot put at 15.14 meters.
- Senior Aubrey Tupper, junior Nicole Prall and sophomore Kayla Byrd placed in a three-way tie for third place in the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.63 meters.
- Agadama placed second in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.81 meters.
- Sophomore Athena Stith earned third place in the women's long jump at 5.59 meters.
- Freshman Bradley Lowman captured second in the men's long jump with a mark of 7.19 meters.
- Freshman Shieana Hall placed second in the women's triple jump with 12.42 meters.
- Freshman Saphina Stanley earned third place with a triple jump mark of 12.12 meters.
- Senior Turey Stoudemire placed third in the men's high jump at 2.10 meters.
