Senior joins Cougars after competing for last two seasons at Oral Roberts
HOUSTON – Kevin An became the newest member of the University of Houston Men's Golf program after signing a scholarship agreement, Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke announced Wednesday.Measuring 5-foot-11 and weighing 160 pounds, An will compete as a senior during the 2025-26 season and have one year of eligibility remaining.
"We are excited to add Kevin to our program. He has made substantial improvement to his game every year, and his experience will be an asset to our team," Dismuke said. "His win at last year's Summit League Conference Championships was a glimpse at the level of play Kevin is capable of producing".
A native of Riverside, Calif., An comes to Houston after playing for the last two seasons at Oral Roberts with his freshman campaign at San Diego in 2022-23.
He enjoyed an award-winning campaign as a junior at Oral Roberts in 2024-25. Competing in 11 tournaments with a career-best 72.63 scoring average, An captured the Summit League Championships individual title.
He fired three straight sub-par rounds to finish at 7-under 206 and made par on the first hole of a three-man playoff to win at Longbow Golf Course in Mesa, Ariz., in late April.
An first joined Oral Roberts as a sophomore for the 2023-24 season. That year, he competed in 33 rounds across 11 tournaments with a 73.15 average and three Top-20 finishes.
He posted three straight rounds of par or better to open the spring season at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate at Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif., in early February 2024. An also tied for seventh at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate with a score of 4-under 209, thanks to consecutive 69s in the final two rounds, at Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield, Mo., in mid-March.
An entered the collegiate ranks as a freshman at San Diego during the 2022-23 season. He competed in five tournaments and tied for 12th at The Prestige Individual Invitational with a score of 221 and was a member of the championship team during the Saint Mary's Invitational at Poppy Hills Golf Club in Pebble Beach, Calif., in early November 2022.
As a freshman at Martin Luther King High School, An set the school's season scoring average record.
