
Lott Posts Personal Best, Cougars Complete First Day at Big 12 Championship

Ty Lott scores three points in the men’s hammer throw
LAWRENCE, Kan. – University of Houston redshirt freshman Ty Lott scored the first points of the weekend for the Cougars at the Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Thursday at Rock Chalk Park.
Lott placed sixth and recorded a personal best mark of 61.53m in the men's hammer throw to earn three points for the men's squad.
Senior Brice Chabot, senior Trey East III and sophomore Cayden Broadnax secured their spots for Saturday's men's 200-meter final. Chabot won heat three and posted the second fastest time of the day at 20.55. East III won the final heat of the evening with a time of 20.60. Broadnax placed second in his heat but ran the ninth-best time at 20.832.
In the men's decathlon, senior Grant Levesque concluded day one of action in third place with 4030 points. Freshman Owen Levesque sits in 15th place with 3400 points and freshman Colton Harrison is in 19th place with 3233 points.
With three events remaining on Friday, junior Ali Mack completed the first day of the women's heptathlon in 11th place with 3065 points
