Houston Splits Series at Oklahoma State

STILLWATER, Okla. – In a game that started 33 minutes late and included 67-minute lightning delay, the Houston Baseball team dropped the second game of the series at Oklahoma State, 9-1, in Sunday's game called after 4.5 innings due to rain and the Cougars' travel plans.

Oklahoma State (17-19, 6-9 Big 12) scored in every inning they recorded a plate appearance in with the Cougars (21-18, 6-11 Big 12) plating a run in the fourth inning.

Drama after the fourth inning concluded included the hour and seven minute delay due to lightning before the Cougars recorded a lead-off hit to open the fifth inning. During the middle of the fifth inning the umpires called the game due to the steady downpour of rain that had been coming down throughout the fifth inning.

Oklahoma State has not completed a series at home as scheduled in 2025.

UP NEXT
Houston returns home for a midweek game on Tuesday against Lamar before going back on the road to play a conference series at Kansas State Friday-Sunday. Tuesday's game, and the Big 12 Conference series in Manhattan, Kan., will stream on ESPN+.
