Climie hits team-leading eighth home run
A two-out fielding error by Houston (19-15, 5-8 Big 12) in the fourth inning allowed three additional runs to score in the inning and give West Virginia (28-4, 8-3 Big 12) a 5-0 lead.
The Cougars scored a run in the bottom of the inning with a pair of doubles from third baseman Aaron Lugo and designated hitter Kenneth Jimenez.
First baseman Cade Climie hit his team-leading eighth home run of the year in the fifth. The Sugar Land, Texas, native smoked a fly ball to right field for the opposite field solo home run.
The Mountaineers scored five unearned runs on three Houston errors.

Houston seeks a series evening win on Saturday against West Virginia at 6:35 p.m. The Saturday game against West Virginia is Alumni/Former Player Reunion Day while the entirety of the series is Bark in Park – we hope to see all the pups at the yard. Sunday's series finale is slated for 11:30 a.m.
