Houston’s four run first not enough

Houston (15-12, 3-6 Big 12) took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a trio of hits. Designated hitter Kenneth Jimenez brought home the first run on a ground out, third baseman Aaron Lugo drove in the second run on an RBI single and shortstop Tyler Cox drove in two more on the third single of the inning.

TCU (21-8, 5-4 Big 12) scored in six of the next eight innings, pushing crooked numbers across in the second, fourth, sixth, seventh and ninth innings.

Lugo finished the day 3 for 5 with two RBI.

Houston stays at home to take on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Don Sanders Field at Darryl and Lori Schroeder Park. The game will stream on ESPN+.
