Houston hosts West Virginia and Cincinnati in final homestand
BOULDER, Colo. – The University of Houston Tennis team dropped its road match to Colorado, 4-1, on Sunday afternoon at Meadows Club.
The Cougars (3-11, 0-8 Big 12) again had to forfeit court three in doubles and the Buffaloes (7-9, 1-7 Big 12) took advantage as #45 Ema Bubalo and Anya Nelson defeated juniors Gabriela Cortes and Sophie Schouten, 6-3, on court one.
Colorado doubled their lead on court three as Bubalo won a pair of 6-3 sets over sophomore Heta Nuutinen.
The Buffaloes added another point on court two when sophomore Iva Sepa fell, 6-2, 6-1 to Betina Tokac.
Krokhotina won her fifth singles match of the season as she defeated Pia Rebec on court four, 6-3, 6-4.
Colorado clinched the match in the third set on court one when Mila Stanojevic outlasted fifth-year Santa Strombacha, 6-3, 3-6, 6-0.
