
Men’s Golf Set to Host All-American Intercollegiate

Cougars welcome top teams to Golf Club of Houston for two-day, 54-hole event beginning Monday morning
HUMBLE, Texas – The University of Houston Men's Golf program returns to action to play host to a pair of tournaments at Golf Club of Houston beginning Monday morning.
The Cougars welcome a 15-team field for the All-American Intercollegiate on the 7,067-yard, par-72 Tournament Course. Student-athletes also will compete on the 7,508-yard, par-72 Member Course for the All-American Intercollegiate Individuals event.
Admission is FREE to both tournaments, and all fans are invited to attend.
Schools will play 36 holes Monday with the Final Round teeing off Tuesday with 8 a.m., starts each day.
A year ago, Texas Tech captured the team title with a score of 871 while UNLV's Yuki Moriyama defeated Sam Houston's Bret Gray with a birdie on the first hole of a playoff after both tied at 5-under 211 after 54 holes.
Houston enters the All-American Intercollegiate after finishing 14th at the Cabo Collegiate at Twin Dolphin Club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on March 2-4. Junior Hudson Weibel opened that tournament with a 69 and closes with a 67 to finish seventh with a score of 4-under 209 to lead the Cougars.

ABOUT the COUGARS
Under the leadership of Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke, Houston will field two teams for the All-American Intercollegiate.
Houston's A Team will consist of junior Hudson Weibel, sophomore Chi Chun Chen, senior Wolfgang Glawe, senior Jacob Borow and senior Laurenz Schiergen.
The Cougars' B team will include junior Bryant Hiskey II, freshman Hsuan-Yi Chen, sophomore Grant Doggett, junior Ruben Lindsay and junior Julio Rios-Brache.
Sophomore Nico Aulicino will represent the Cougars in the All-American Intercollegiate Individual tournament.
This season, Weibel leads the Cougars with a 71.18 scoring average and is tied for third on the team with eight rounds of par or lower. The Dallas native led the Cougars and finished seventh with a score of 4-under 209 at the Cabo Collegiate in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on March 2-4.
Borow stands second among the Cougars with a 71.75 average while Glawe is third on the team at 72.47. Doggett and Chi Chun Chen are tied for the team lead with nine rounds of par or lower.

The Cougars will compete in a 15-team field featuring Rice, Lamar, North Texas, Penn, Sam Houston, Southern Miss, TCU, Texas State, Troy, ULM, UNLV, UT Rio Grande Valley, UTSA and Yale.
