
PREVIEW: Track & Field to Compete at NCAA Indoor Championships

Cougars will compete in three individual events beginning Friday
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The University of Houston Track and Field program will be represented by graduate KeAyla Dove, senior Jamar Marshall Jr., and sophomore Antrea Mita at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, beginning Friday at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
MEET THE COMPETITORS
Houston will begin competition with Marshall Jr., running in the 60-meter hurdles semifinal at 7 p.m. CT, on Friday. If he finishes in the top eight, Marshall Jr. will advance to the final scheduled for 5:40 p.m., CT, on Saturday. This will be the senior's third appearance which includes a third-place finish during the 2022 Championships.
Mita makes his NCAA Indoor Championships debut in the men's high jump at 11 a.m., CT, Saturday. The sophomore currently ranks second in the nation with his personal best mark of 2.26m (7-5.0).
On the women's side, Dove will compete at her fourth NCAA Indoor Championships in the shot put at 12:45 p.m., CT, Saturday. The Houston native currently leads the nation after recording a school record and the third all-time best mark in NCAA Indoor history at 19.46m (63-10.25).
BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP
At her first Big 12 Championship, Dove won the women's shot put with a mark of 18.29m (60-0.25) and was the only competitor to throw over 17.00m. Dove's victory marked her third indoor shot put title across three different conferences after winning the 2022 WAC Indoor title and the 2024 AAC Indoor title.
Mita was crowned the Big 12 Champion in the high jump as he cleared 2.22m (7-3.25). The sophomore's victory marked Houston's first indoor conference men's high jump title since D'Korian Ford's CUSA title in 2009.
Marshall earned a bronze medal in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 7.56.
